Gratitude Friday

springleemartinez1. Spring. Bird song, green, blooms, blue skies.

2. Hard boiled eggs, crackers, and Sprite. I had a touch of food poisoning and this was all I could eat yesterday.

3. A month in Waldport. We are all paid up, making plans, and dreaming of the beach. I am setting an intention to pack less, do less once we get there, and get Ringo ready to ride in the way back with Sam like a big boy.

We are also taking some of Dexter's ashes to scatter at one of his favorite places.

4. Ringo. He’s continuing to grow up and get easier. He got his staples removed, the gash over his eye all healed up, and then went back to daycare and spent the day playing. I was looking at him the other day and realized his spots, his specs look just like the night sky, like the Milky way or something.

sleepypink5. Sam. He’s still doing well, getting weaned off his pain medication. That plus all the playing he does with Ringo brings him back to the young, vibrant dog he should be at four years old. He’s such a sweet, sensitive boy too, tries to intervene when Ringo’s getting in trouble or he thinks we are playing too hard or when we are having an animated conversation that might be fighting.

"Make me dinner, Mom."

“Make me dinner, Mom.”

Bonus Joy: I’m a little nervous about this one, but excited — Jamie Ridler is interviewing me for her Creative Living podcast. I’m not nervous to talk to Jamie about creativity, until I look at the other people she’s interviewed, so many of my favorite creatives. How did I end up on that list?!

Love that you’re coming to the coast, Jill. Of course, I won’t be back there until June 15th or so, so I’m hoping it’s after that. A few changes since you were last there, but not many! Not like the changes here in town, that’s for sure!

Mary, we won’t be there until mid-June either, and then are staying a month. Can’t wait to hear about your trip to France — safe travels and have a great time! ♥

Yay! I know you don’t want to do much while you at the coast, but perhaps we could have some walks together, with the dogs, of course, or meet at the Green Salmon for coffee!

I love the image of the Milky Way on Ringo — how true that our canine friends sometimes seem to carry a universe with them, both theirs and ours. Looking forward to the Creative Living podcast 🙂

So, I’ve lately only been lurking but thought I had to tell you that OF COURSE you’d be on Jamie’s podcast!!! You’re one of the most amazing people in the world and this will introduce you to more folks who need to hear what you say. Silly girl!!! I do hope we can have a chance to get together for lunch or dinner while you’re here. Either in PDX or I can even drive down to Waldport! What a great opportunity to get to the coast and spend the night at one of my favorite places, the Esther Lee in Lincoln City! xoxo

You know the Esther Lee!? That’s one of the places we would stay when I was a kid, and I still have such fond memories of it. It’s a date!

I ADORE the Esther Lee! I try to go at least once a year for three nights, usually in the fall. Doggies welcome, gorgeous beach, fabulous used bookstore close by, yummy food all around – what’s not to love? The first time I was there I felt like Lauren Bacall would be arriving in a yellow roadster at any moment; it has that kind of feel. Now I can get an extra summertime night plus see you and meet the boys! Yay!

Ok so first – the pic & this “We are also taking some of Dexter’s ashes to scatter at one of his favorite places.” made me tear up —- and YES Ringo’s spots do look like the night sky, I LOVE this.

AND the best thing – OH EM GEE – CONGRATS on being interviewed by Jamie!!!!! I love her podcast. You are fabulous. You are doing this. Rock on.

I'd love to hear what you think, kind and gentle reader.
