#SmallStone Day One: Jan ’13 Mindful Writing Challenge

jan13large

Starting today and for the rest of the month, I’ll be taking part in the Mindful Writing Challenge hosted by Kaspa and Satyavani of Writing Our Way Home. They describe it this way (the short version): “Start 2013 by making space for beauty and a little serenity. Commit to write a small stone every day during January,” and to do so is this simple: “1. Notice something properly every day during January. 2. Write it down.”

Small Stone Day One: Waiting

As I write, you wait. You begin so patiently, watching and waiting, still and quiet. Sometimes I even forget you are there, other times you forget and fall asleep. When you can’t wait anymore, you whine quietly, shift your weight from one foot to the other, or you nudge your nose into my leg or put your head into my lap, or sometimes even offer me a toy, reminding me you are there–waiting.

Full Moon Dreamboard: Full Cold Moon

From Jamie’s post: Here we are, sharing our dreams under the last full moon of the year. Take time to celebrate all the blessings that have arrived this year, all the dreams that have started to started to tenderly grow, the dreams that are bearing fruit and those that are now complete. And then, as you stand at the edge of 2013, let yourself dream anew. Create a dreamboard and invite the magic in. What are you dreaming of?

The Full Cold Moon asks: “What comforts do you dream of?”

Hugs, snuggling and cuddling, holding, stretching, touch, connection, love.
Heat, warmth, fire, love.
Light, the wide open sky, space, gentleness, ease, love.
My own bed, my dogs, my tiny house, my little family, love.
Practice, an open heart, a soft place to land, room to move, freedom, love.
Love letters, kind words, stories, songs, paper and pen, whispers, love.
I love you. I love you. I love you.
I love you. I love you. I love you.
I love you. I love you. I love you.
I love you. I love you. I love you.
I love you. I love you. I love you.
I love you. I love you. I love you.
I love you. I love you. I love you.
