August Break: Day 27

My meditation practice, along with those of yoga and writing, have been medicine these past many days, as I try to remain open and present with what is arising in my life and environment. They provide a method for steadying my mind, and dealing with the intense emotions and fearful, discursive, obsessive thoughts that are triggered. My commitment to practice makes the situation more workable.

August Break: Day 21

Essentially, meditation is the noble act of making friends with yourself. Breath by breath, moment by moment, you recover a sense of freshness, openness, and alertness.
