We begin our journey in the darkness. I am feeling… safe and ready. I begin the journey of every day in the darkness. No matter what time of year, I am up before the sun. There’s something comforting to me about the darkness of morning — the song of the crickets, the cool air, being awake before almost everyone else (or at least it seems that way). Something about this dark makes it seem like the regular rules don’t apply. All the expectations that come with the light of day can fall away. There’s an ease to it. I’m content here.
Thank you for joining in Jill. The idea of getting up in the dark intrigues me. I used to have to do it for work and it has such a magic to it. But alas, I like to stay up later than I should, and my resolve to get up earlier is gone come the morning. I love the idea of it though. Enjoy your ease-filled mornings. xx
Thanks for hosting, Alana! I used to stay up late too, but you get up early enough for long enough and you just are too tired to stay up late. And my dogs want to get up, be fed, go on a walk, so sleeping in usually isn’t even an option. 🙂
I give you all my morning hours as a gift, Jill. Because you use them much better than I do. Which is to say: I don’t use mine at all, but for sleep and lazing. Up before the sun? Nope. Never have. Always wish to—much like Alana has confessed! 🙂 xoxoxo
The downside of being up so early is by 9 or 10, I feel done and everyone else is just getting started.
Which means naps. Never a bad thing. 😉
